High blood pressure is a very common disease today, not only in Maldives, but worldwide.
It can be a serious health issue if not treated regularly. The best way to combat is by seeking proper nutrition before you are forced to take medicine for it.
If you do suffer from hypertension, or even take med for high blood pressure, it is best to quit smoking, reduce caffeine intake, junk food and exercise regularly, even if that means 3 days a week for 30 minutes.
Stress can also elevate your blood pressure, and caffeinated products such as coffee and tea can act to fuel the pressure level rather than diminish it.
Eat food rich in vitamin C and potassium. Vitamin C has antioxidant properties and thus helps to relax the blood vessels and both vitamins C and potassium removes excess sodium and water from your blood stream.

• 1 Banana (Medium)
• 1 Kiwi (Medium)
• 4 Strawberries
• 1/2 Cup Skim Milk
• ½ Cup low-fat yogurt or Greek Yogurt
• 1 Tablespoon Ground flax seed
• Garden cress (optional)
Mix the Skim Milk and yogurt in a mixer and blend well. Then add all the other ingredients until completely combined.
