Jared Leto and Margot Robbie are going to be reprising their roles as the villains we saw on 2016's Suicide Squad, in the new 'Joker and Harley Quinn' movie!
Warner Bros is going to bring us the movie centering on The Joker and his lover Harley Quinn, and the directors Glenn Ficarra and John Reque - also director and executive producers of NBC Drama This is US and 2011 movie Crazy, Stupid Love - are in final negotionas to helm the project!
But if you are waiting for the movie to come out soon, then prepare to be let down. It has been reported that their plan is to release the movie after the sequel to Suicide Squad is made. The latter is currently struggling in landing a director, which has a target of releasing in 2019.
However the sequel is on the development fast-track, as is the Joker and Harley Quinn movie due to the actor's holding agreements. The film has been described as a 'criminal love story' - which is sort of a given.
Additionally, Warner Bros is working on a movie with The Joker as the main focus, looking back on how he became the clown prince of crime. However, Jared Leto will not appear as The Joker on the origin story, as it will be separated from the DC Extended Universe.
Instead, a brand new, younger actor will play the role of Joker in the new movie set in Gotham City during the early 80s. Although there are no official announcements or release dates, it has been confirmed that Todd Phillips and Scott Silver are already working on the script.
