Hong Kong airlines have announced plans to resume operations to the Maldives, from 16th January 2018 onwards. The airline will be operating flights three-times per week upon commencement next year.
It has been reported that an Airbus A330-300 aircraft would be used for services between Hong Kon and Maldives. The Assistant Director of Commercial at Hong Kong Airlines, Wayne Wang stated that Maldives is the ideal destination for an increasing number of travellers. He further added that Hong Kong airlines is striving to meet this demand, by providing customers from Hong Kong and other destinations.
The flights have been scheduled to depart from Hong Kong to Maldives every Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday, at 1755 Hrs (GMT +8) and arrive in Maldives at 2205 Hrs (GMT +5), with a journey of six hours. While flights would be departing from Maldives to Hong Kong every Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 0005 Hrs (GMT +5) landing in Hong Kong at 0925 Hrs (GMT +8).
