Mothers are basically superheroes, doing countless things for their children and helping them in extraordinary ways. There are things that children can see and a lot of behind-the-scene things that they cannot. Regardless, mothers are eager to work tirelessly for their babies and provide them with everything they need to be cared for and loved.
Shefali Tsabary, an author and clinical psychologist stated that there are three specific tasks a mother can do for their children, which are more important than anything else. According to Dr. Shefali, mothers that focus on these three things help their child thrive, and find their own sense of balance, joy, and fulfillment every day.
Here are the three most important things you can do for your kids
1. Acknowledge your own worth
Dr. Shefali explains that when a mom is whole from within, spreads out to everyone else around her. "She will immediately reflect the wholeness within the child," says Dr. Shifali.
2. Always stay present and available
One of the essential things you can do for your child is to be present, attuned and available. This is what helps the 'developing spirit' of your child, according to Dr. Shifali. It is important to make yourself available for your child whenever he/she may need you, truly listen to them and stay in the present moment being aware of what they are doing.
3. Let your child make their own mistake
Mothers must learn to let their children make their own mistakes. Though it can be difficult, it is important to resist the instinct of overprotecting your childs. "The mother [must] have faith in her mothering and set her children free to make their own mistakes," says Dr. Shifali. "[Don’t] mistake love for dependency, for control, for attachment."
