There was doubt before, whether Neymar Jr would actually leave Barcelona and join the football club Paris St Germain that has offered a release clause of 222 million Euros. Now it's getting clearer that the Brazilian Football star is set to leave Barcelona and become the most expensive player in history.

On the morning of Wednesday, 2nd August, Neymar Jr attended the Barcelona training ground Sant Joan Despi where he spent 43 minutes, bidding farewell to his teammates and coach Ernesto Valverde.

He left the training in his car accompanied by a friend, and is soon expected to be in Paris to attend a meeting with PSG. The team itself confirmed with tweet that Neymar did not train with permission of the coach.

The club released a statement a few hours ago regarding Neymar Jr, it read:

"The player Neymar Jr, accompanied by his father and agent, has informed FC Barcelona this morning of his decision to leave the Club in a meeting held at the Club’s offices.
Faced with this position, the Club has informed them they refer to the buy-out clause of his existing contract which as of 1 July totals 222 million euros which will have to be deposited in its entirety.
Furthermore, in reply to the claim for the contract extension bonus, the Club has once again made it clear that the amount remains deposited with a notary until the case is resolved.
The player remains under contract at FC Barcelona but with temporary permission to not take part in training sessions. "

Not long ago, his teammate Lionel Messi bid farewell to him by posting a picture on Instagram with the caption "It was a great pleasure to have shared all these years with you, friend @neymarjr. I wish you good luck in this new stage of your life. See you tomorrow."

Now we just have to wait for him to sign the contract, and confirm it himself to the public once and for all.
