Smart Casual Attire
Formal attires such as suits ties or dresses is a big Nope here in the Maldives, Pack the most loose dresses and the thinnest shirts. Or just wear a kaftan over your swimwear.
Sunburn & Sunscreen
Better to pack your sunscreens, hats and sunglasses in advance. The sun in Maldives is not nearly as friendly as the people here. Since Maldives is located near the equator, the sun is most likely to give you its utmost affection. Be prepared!
Mosquitoes and bugs love the Maldives just as much as anyone else. After all it is Paradise. So make sure to bring along your bug spray and bite relieving creams.
Books & gadgets
There is a much likely chance that you would be laying down somewhere in the resort. Bring your favorite books or just choose one onsite. Load up your gadgets and charge you photography gear because there are sights you would want to capture before the moment is gone.
If you want to snorkel or dive, don’t forget to bring your waterproof camera, or water resistant phone cases or your GoPro.
No place for heels.
Maldives has island pathways made of powder fine white sand. And wearing heels would not be an ideal choice. Buy some glamorous flats or just walk barefoot.
